Net Zero Plan

We are commited to a Net Zero Future for our business by 2035

Our Target Energy Sources

Battery Power

This has been the rate limiting step for us in investing n alternative energy – however tech here has improved a great deal and we are committed to investing in the latest tech here to enable us to harness the benefits of Altenative Energy Sources.

We will be investing in Solar Pannels – The first of these will go into our HQ – in Q1 2024

We will ensure that the Energy Supplier we partner with at any of our locations has a significant amount of their energy being generated through Wind

Getting to Net Zero By 2035

The Journey to Net Zero by 2035 will be challenging but we are committed to doing our part to secure a better future for the next generation.

Our Net Zero Plan

Heratcooked Ltd is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2035. We recognise the urgent need to address climate change and are dedicated to playing our part in mitigating its impacts. Our Net Zero Plan outlines our strategies and actions to achieve carbon neutrality by reducing emissions across our operations.

1. Assess Current Emissions:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of our current greenhouse gas emissions across all scopes, including direct emissions from operations (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased electricity (Scope 2), and indirect emissions from the supply chain and other sources (Scope 3).
  • Utilise tools such as carbon footprint calculators to accurately measure and track emissions.

2. Set Clear Targets:

  • Establish ambitious, science-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
  • Set interim targets to track progress and ensure accountability.

3. Reduce Energy Consumption:

  • Implement energy efficiency measures across all facilities and operations, including upgrading equipment, optimising processes, and improving building insulation.
  • Transition to renewable energy sources such as solar or wind power for our electricity needs.
  • Encourage employees to adopt energy-saving practices in the workplace.

4. Green Transportation:

  • Transition the company fleet to electric or hybrid vehicles, prioritising low-emission alternatives for transportation needs.
  • Promote telecommuting and flexible work arrangements to reduce commuting emissions.
  • Encourage the use of public transportation and cycling among employees through incentives and infrastructure support.

5. Sustainable Supply Chain:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to assess and reduce emissions associated with the production and transportation of goods and services.
  • Prioritise suppliers with strong environmental commitments and sustainability practices.
  • Explore opportunities for local sourcing to minimise transportation-related emissions.

6. Waste Reduction and Recycling:

  • Implement waste reduction initiatives to minimise the generation of waste across all operations.
  • Encourage recycling and composting programs within the organisation.
  • Evaluate packaging materials to prioritise recyclable and biodegradable options.

7. Carbon Offsetting:

  • Invest in high-quality carbon offset projects to compensate for unavoidable emissions.
  • Prioritise projects with co-benefits such as biodiversity conservation and community development.
  • Transparently communicate our carbon offsetting activities to stakeholders.

8. Employee Engagement:

  • Educate and engage employees on the importance of our net-zero commitment and provide training on sustainable practices.
  • Establish employee-led sustainability teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Recognise and reward individuals and teams for their contributions to carbon reduction efforts.

9. Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate transparently with customers, investors, and other stakeholders about our net-zero journey, including progress updates and challenges.
  • Solicit feedback and suggestions for improving our sustainability performance.
  • Collaborate with industry peers and partners to share best practices and collectively advance climate action.

10. Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly review and update our Net Zero Plan to incorporate new technologies, best practices, and evolving scientific knowledge.
  • Engage with experts and advisory groups to stay informed about emerging trends and opportunities in climate mitigation.
  • Celebrate milestones and successes along the journey toward carbon neutrality.

By implementing these strategies and working collaboratively with stakeholders, Heratcooked Ltd is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a sustainable future for generations to come.
