Welcome Kayleigh Carslake!

We are thrilled to be to announce that Kayleigh Carslake, owner of the @kayleighslittlesquares page will be joining the Chefiesta Team as our new Brand Ambassador! 🎉

As a mother of two (Ted and Albert), foodie, fitness lover, teacher and lifestyle blogger. Kayleigh Carslake creates a whole range of content that is great for other mums, families or those reel lovers out there as her reels will truly leave you in tears !

We managed to catch up with Kayleigh earlier this week for a quick interview. Here’s what she had to say:

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do

I’m a teacher of 9 years, currently part time as I am also a mummy to two gorgeous boys. Ted who is 4 and will be starting school in September and Albert who is 1. I am a real FOODIE and thank goodness my lovely fiancé is too!

2. Why do you do what you do

I love sharing parts of our life on my Instagram page, I have a passion for food. I love trying new foods, cooking recipes and also, we all LOVE to bake! My son Ted is the expert in our house!

I lead a healthy lifestyle- I train few times a week (evenings once the boys are asleep) and we love spending time with our family and friends. We are not the sort of family to have “chill” days. Get up and go go go! Exploring the outside world 🌎

3. Where did the idea come from to involve Albert and Ted into your page?

It all started during lock down while I was on maternity. All four of us were stuck at home – I knew I was going to struggle! So I decided to start a blog (my first ever post was all about my amazing home birth with Albert) which I soon fell in love with and had some great response. From then on, my page started to grow and I have been very lucky to have worked with such amazing companies.

4.  What do you like most about running a page as a family?

I love sharing the reality of parent life. Sharing the days where I feel like super mum but also sharing the days where I can just about make it through the day.

5. What has been your biggest struggles getting to where you are now, and do you have any advice to other mum bloggers starting off on in their journey?

Getting a balance between enjoying the moment and being on my phone. That’s the one I find the most difficult. I have got much better at snapping the content during the day but not always sharing until the evening or when Albert is napping, and Ted is having some chill time. Life is too short, and I want to enjoy every second with my boys.

If you want to grow then engagement is the way to go. It’s very time consuming but it really works- sharing peoples pages, commenting, and responding to stories. Finding your own style too- it can take a while to know what content you want to share but you want people to find your page purposeful.

6. What has been your proudest achievement so far on your journey?

When I look back at how far I have come in just over a year I really do feel so proud. Not only have I been able to work with many incredible businesses, I have also made some friends for life.

I love that I have a daily “diary” of me and my family which the boys will be able to look back on and hopefully feel extremely loved and special.

7. What has motherhood been like for you.

It’s been the most incredible journey. When someone asks me this question so many emotions run through my body. When I look at the boys my heart fills with warmth. I can’t quite believe they are mine at times- I feel so incredibly lucky.

Parenthood means sleepless nights (still going strong), big belly laughs until it hurts, mud and crumbs on the sofa, no time to drink hot coffee and a wash basket that is never empty BUT I get to enjoy the best cuddles and kisses and every day I feel very loved and special.

8. If you could give one bit of advice to a new mother what would it be?

Don’t suffer alone. Talk about your feelings, reach out to people who have done it before. I suffered after having Ted for many reasons (explained in my blog) and talking was the best thing I ever did. Being a mum is life changing – and nothing can prepare you for that.

9. What attracted you to Chefiesta ?

The idea of having high quality balanced meals that taste amazing but only take 3 minutes to cook! I mean who would not be attracted to that? The customer service/ staff are sooo lovely. Always asking how I am and my family, so personalised! Supporting us with choosing our meals making sure they are perfect for us all!

10. What was your favourite dish that you tried?

It has got to be the spaghetti Bolognese!!!! To be honest they have all been so tasty!

11. What has been your experience using Chefiesta and how did it help you in your day-to-day life?

The meals are honestly so delicious and filling. I had meant that as a family we have been able to eat balanced and quality meals on days I’ve not had much sleep or the days where me and David are out the house working for 11 hours!
